Have you ever looked at a family in public and thought that they have too many children? While some folks without any children may feel that one child is too many for them to handle, other couples have a desire to keep having children recently. Is it just a trend the public enjoys watching play out on television?
If you have not noticed lately you can tune in and watch the lives of several large families unveil their vigorous daily routines for all to see. There are shows with multiples on them featuring the difficulty life can bring when you have four, five or even eight children that are all the same age. There are other shows that feature the lives of families with five, ten, twelve and even twenty, yes twenty children! Is this a social circumstance that many were simply unaware of, or is this a rare occasion that just makes for good television? Well, as much as people are talking about the economy in the past few years it certainly hasn't stopped the production of children in the United States. That can be a very interesting fact when you look at it from an expert's point of view, which is that many feel more people are having children from the additional time the married couples have gained from the recession. To explain this in further detail, social experts are claiming that many couples are having more children due to one spouse being laid off of work or from the couple not being able to afford going out as much. This would result in the couples staying home more often than usual, and thus they are making more babies! Is that not somewhat ironic or financially strange that people that would be struggling during the recession would actually have more children that would in turn cause them several thousands of dollars to raise each child? It is this type of strategic thinking that causes many people to voice their opinions and claim some families simply have too many children.
Can it be possible for a handful of very large families to be overpopulating the world? Perhaps if that is the way you prefer to think of it, but with the amount of crimes and deaths resulted from those crimes and drug overdoses on the rise, it most likely would balance out the numeric statistics of those in big families. There seem to be two common factors that angers people judging larger families and those are that the family is not financially stable enough to support all of their children, and those that are not able to provide enough attention and care for each child that they deserve. In this day and age, you can be a family of three and need to be on some form of public assistance, certainly a large family with more than five children most likely is receiving it as well. This is what causes the main debate, that the rest of the world is paying from these couples to continuing to have children they themselves cannot afford. Can you really provide enough attention for each child when you have so many? Probably not, but several large families are doing it and the children seem to have a stronger bond with their siblings than those households with smaller amounts of children. Are big families here to stay or will they begin to taper off? Observe over the next few years and you might find it rather interesting to notice if your town is populated with large families as well.
